Diabetic Savory Hash Recipe

li1 lb ground beef, lean/li
li1/2 cup chopped celery/li
li1/2 cup chopped onion/li
li1/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped/li
li1 tsp salt, or to taste/li
li1 tsp chili powder, or to taste/li
li3/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground/li
li2 cup tomatoes, diced/li
li1/2 cup whole wheat, cooked rice/li

h3Preparation:/h3
ol
liCombine the ground beef, celery, onion, and green pepper in a nonstick skillet./li
liCook until the meat is just browned. Drain the accumulated fat./li
liAdd the tomatoes, cooked rice, chili powder and salt and pepper to taste./li
liCover and simmer over low heat for about 45 minutes, adding water occasionally to keep meat from sticking to skillet./li
