If you are diabetic and
If you are diabetic and awaken in the morning to find your bed soaked in sweat, this may be an indication of hypoglycemia during the night. You wrote that your glucose levels are around "15" at bedtime. I hope you meant 150 because 15mg/dl and you would be critically hypoglycemia and requiring emergent care. Often times, especially during the night, glucose readings can fall. Suggestions would be to wake up around 2:00-3:00 in the morning and do a random glucose check to see where you fall. If you find that you are hypoglycemia and are on medications at night, then discuss this with your physician immediately. Sounds as though you may need to have your nighttime medications lowered. I am surprised to think that you did not awaken on your own during the night with these sweating episodes. The longer a person has diabetes, the more likely he/she is to develop a condition called hypoglycemia unawareness where a person no longer feels the symptoms of hypoglycemia coming on. Talk with your physician and see if he/she has any suggestions for medication adjustments. Good luck!!
