Do you have an insulin pump?
Do you have an insulin pump? The reason I ask is that in order for the REAL time sensor to work, it must be read on an insulin pump made by Medtronic. If you do have the insulin pump, then the insurance coverage you have (private insurance, medicaid, or medicare) should have clauses for sensors. If you have documented hypoglycemia or documented hyperglycemia r/t DKA, then a letter of supportive documentation from your physician will be required. You can call Medtronic at 1-800-646-4633 and ask specific questions. Good luck!
