We wish there was! Every year

We wish there was! Every year it seems there will be a cure..but it never comes. The drug companies are making BILLIONS of dollars a year on diabetes drugs & supplies..so it is not in there best interest to find a cure for us.

If you have Diabetes type 2, many people have experienced a "cure" when they lost massive amounts of weight through diet or a gastric bypass surgery. Some also experienced the same when they went on a vegetarian diet or the "Caveman diet", which means you eat any type of meat you want, any non-starchy vegetable, and no fruit, flour, grains, sugar or milk.

If you find a "cure" let us know, and good luck to you!

At this time there is no cure

At this time there is no cure for diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is where there is no insulin being produced by the pancreas and since insulin is vital to life, there is no way to get a cure for this disease process. Diabetes type 1 can be managed well however with the proper diet, exercise, and insulin dosages. Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, can be prevented with early diagnosis and weight loss, decreasing of blood pressure, and blood sugar. There are many co-morbidities (disease processes) that can lead to developing diabetes. If we get these under good control then we can delay or prevent actually developing the disease. There have been many patients who have lost weight and managed their diabetes with just diet and exercise and then later on gain a lot of weight back. They then go back on the medications for diabetes. Good weight control is definitely needed for good control of diabetes...along with diet and exercise.
