You might qualify for diabetes research studies

There are hundreds of ongoing diabetes research studies in the United States at any one time.

There are two types of research studies:

Interventional
Testing the affects of drugs, devices, diets, etc.
Observational
tracking what participants do over time

There are a couple of important principles to remember with respect to research studies (also called clinical trials):

  • You always have the right to quit a clinical trial – at any time
  • Every clinical trial participant has to have “Informed Consent” – a principle that means the person understands what is being done and why
  • Of people with diabetes who have participated in a clinical trial, 88% would recommend them to other people with diabetes.
