The American Diabetes Association & HearPO Join Forces to Help Diabetics
The American Diabetes Association and HearPO have joined forces to help diabetics who have lost or are in the process of losing their hearing. Diabetics have a higher risk of losing their hearing at an early age than non-diabetics. Of course, the aging process also contributes to the loss of hearing as well. In some cases, the hearing loss for an older diabetic is more rapid due to the two contributing factors.
HearPO has three sister companies who will join in the nationwide effort to provide diabetics with hearing aides. The three sister companies are Miracle-Ear, Sonus and the Elite Hearing Network. They are the largest distributors of hearing services and devices in the world.
With the assistance of the American Diabetes Association HearPO and their sister, companies have started a Nationwide Campaign. Their goals are to educate, provide hearing tests and help diabetics obtain a hearing aid if one is needed, they do not say at what cost if any.
