Diabetes Knocks Man Out of SC Senate Race

Hugh Mobley had to step down from the SC senate race due to his type 1 diabetes, showing the affects it can have on the body:

"Lancaster pharmacist Hugh Mobley announced Wednesday that he is stepping out of the race for the S.C. Senate District 16 seat.

Mobley, who has Type 1 diabetes, cited his health as the reason he’s withdrawing. He said he has kept the diabetes under control for more than a decade through proper monitoring and eating habits, but in the last few weeks his sugar levels have been out of control.

“I was working 6 a.m .t o 10 p.m. and had some early, small problems, but used adjustment measures to make changes,” Mobley, a Republican, said before holding a press conference Wednesday afternoon."
