Lately the Baylor Institute is getting a lot of acknowledgment with the newly opened Diabetic Health and Wellness Institute. This is not only good news for the diabetic residents of South Dallas but for all diabetics.

Aside from the care, that diabetics in the area will be receiving the center is open to people from all over to come and seek treatment. The basis for the center is focused around low income diabetics those who cannot afford their medications, the proper food for their diet, education and preventive education as well for individuals at a high risk for developing diabetes.

What the Institute Offers

The Baylor Institute for Diabetic Health and Wellness is staffed with doctors, nurses, dieticians and diabetes educators. The institute offers a farmers market with affordable fresh foods, cooking lessons, affordable medications and medical supplies, exercise classes and wellness classes.

The institute is hoping that other hospitals and medical centers will follow their lead is making diabetes a community wide project so that diabetics all over the country can have the same quality healthcare, affordable medications and education that the residents of South Dallas do now.
