patch pen.jpg

The insulin patch has been available for a few years now. Although, many diabetics are not aware of this needless way of receiving insulin. Most recently, a new insulin patch was approved by the FDA the Finesse insulin patch.

How Finesse Works

The patch is attached to the skin and can be worn under clothes. It has two buttons that when squeezed together deliver the correct amount of insulin. Each bolus contains 200 units of insulin when the buttons are squeezed together the insulin passes though a tube that is inserted into the skin and though the patch.

How the Patch Benefits Diabetics

Aside from the oblivious, less injections needed on a daily basis the insulin is fast acting. It is also a money saver for diabetics as it cuts down on the amount of syringes that need to be purchased with regular insulin.
