Lantus - One Insulin Shot a Day Lasts 24 Hours

Lantus is a fairly new and one of a kind diabetic medication. It is a once a day insulin injection that is taken at the same time everyday. It replaces anywhere from the average three to five insulin shots a day. This is great news for diabetics who do not like needles and especially children who are fearful of them.

Lantus comes in a disposable pre-filled insulin pen. Both adults and children (ages four and up) with type 1 or 2 diabetes may be able to take advantage of this once a day insulin injection medication.

Lantus has proved to help many diabetics gain better control over their diabetes. The obvious advantage of it only being one injection a day places a significant role. Even children and teens are able to better manage their diabetes with Lantus. Teens especially because they are always busy and their health is not the first thing on their minds.

Lantus is the only FDA approved once a day insulin injection medication. Lantus is a basal insulin, which works 24 hours a day even when a diabetic may have a spike or a low in their blood sugar levels. This injection certainly does look promising for diabetics of all ages.
