How Nick Jonas Helps Kids with Diabetes

Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers is 16 years old and has had diabetes since he was 12 years old. To show other kids with diabetes that they are not alone he wrote a wonderful song titled “A Little it Longer.” Nick also spends a good amount of time on his blog answering questions and offering support to his young diabetic fans. It helps kids to know that they are not alone in their struggle with diabetes especially when the support is coming form one of their favorite celebrities.

Dog Tag Program

Nick also created the dog tag program, which has raised over $75,000 to help raise diabetic awareness for both kids and adults who have type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The dog tags come with or without a diabetic medical alert and cost a mere $5.00 that goes to helping raise diabetes awareness.

Raising Awareness Helps Kids Lead Normal Lives

Because children often feel alone in their fight against diabetes, it is so important for them to know and to see other kids/teens living their dreams it gives them so much hope for the future. Nick Jonas is just one young celebrity that is living his dream and a full life with diabetes.
