Stem Cell Therapy May Help Adults and Children with Diabetes

stem cell.jpg

"Stem cell treatment is a new hope for diabetes sufferers," Dr. Shi continued. "It can replace dysfunctional pancreatic cells, getting to the root of the disease. Stem cell treatment, both for diabetes and for many other diseases, represents a new age for medicine."

Dr. Shi is the doctor of a 12-year-old boy who underwent the stem cell therapy and states that his young patient has not needed any injections or diabetic medication at all in over eight months. The patient is also able to participate in sports (which he could not do previously) and he is no longer a sickly young boy who caught colds, flu and all the other viruses that went around.

This is a great outcome for the young boy and hopefully all diabetic children will be given the opportunity to try the stem cell therapy and be able to also live free of medications, injections and finger sticks and be able to avoid many of the other diseases and inconveniences that diabetes causes.

The stem cell therapy called Cellonis stem cell therapy has helped both adults and children with no side effects. Scientists and doctors are hopefully that this treatment will be available to all diabetics in the future.
