Pollution May Lead to Developing Diabetes
Researchers find that pollution may be a contributing factor to developing type 2 diabetes:
"CHILDHOOD exposure to common air pollutants increases the risk of obesity and developing diabetes, research has suggested.
Scientists have discovered that exposure to microscopic pollutants from car exhausts and burning fossil fuels can lead to weight gain in youngsters brought up in cities.
They also found that the pollutants cause increased insulin resistance, which can lead to the development of Type 2 diabetes."
